Setting Visual Direction/ Mood Boards
Setting Visual Direction/ Mood Boards
To set a clear visual direction ensuring all design elements work together and align with the project’s aesthetic, we used mood boards, to communicate the intended look and feel, kept the team aligned, and streamlined the process across various themes. This step also served as a creative springboard, inspiring fresh ideas and innovative solutions through exploration of different visual styles.

Takeaways
Takeaways
Designing the ATL Pet Stop website from the ground up was a strong exercise in end-to-end UX thinking, from discovery and user research through to visual design and handoff. It pushed me to balance business goals with user needs, making deliberate decisions about information architecture, booking flow, and visual identity rather than defaulting to convention.
Working on a brand-new site with no existing design system also meant building structure and consistency from scratch, which deepened my understanding of how foundational design decisions compound across a product. Most importantly, it reinforced that good design isn't just about aesthetics, it's about creating an experience that builds trust quickly, reduces friction, and drives real outcomes for the business.
